Before riding off with your bicycle, please check the following:
1. Brakes: Are you happy with how the brakes work, and are they tight enough for you to comfortably ride the bike?
2. Gears: Are you comfortable with how the gears work, and can you change them easily?
3. Chain turning: Do you feel comfortable with the smoothness of the chain? If you are finding the chain jumps, this is common on bikes if you are riding in opposing gears. For example, if you are riding in a very low gear on your left handlebar, and a high gear on your right, you will find that the turnover of the pedals is less smooth.
4. Handlebars: Can you easily and comfortably rotate the handlebars whilst stationary, and whilst riding?
5. Tyres: Are you comfortable with the dilation of the tyres whilst you're on the bicycle? Sometimes tyres need more air for heavier people & cargo, but do not need as much air for lighter people.
6. Is your saddle a comfortable height for you?
For adjustments to your saddle or a top up of air to your tyres, head to: https://oxbykes.co.uk/about/bike-equipment
Please take your time with these 5 checks to make sure you are comfortable with your new bicycle.
